How do I open a new Savings or Current account?

You can easily open a Savings Account or Current Account via our MAE app. Simply follow the steps below.

If you are a NEW Maybank user:

Step 1: Launch the MAE app.

Step 2: After the introduction, tap on ‘X’ on the top-right corner of the ‘Let’s Get Started!’ page.

Step 3: Select ‘Apply’ on the navigation bar at the bottom-right of your screen.

Step 4: Choose between a Savings Account, Current Account or Investment Account provided.

Step 5: Scan your IC, verify it with a selfie and fill up your employment details.

Step 6: After entering your employment details, you may apply for a debit card and include your delivery address for us to mail it to you.

Step 7: Verify and confirm all your details, and you’re done.

After opening an account, you will need to create a Maybank2u online banking access and activate it to be able to make transactions.

If you are an EXISTING Maybank user:

Step 1: Launch the MAE app.

Step 2: Select ‘Apply’ on the navigation bar at the bottom-right of your screen.

Step 3: Choose between a Savings Account, Current Account or Investment Account provided.

Step 4: Fill in and confirm your pre-filled personal and employment details.

Step 5: Confirm your details are correct, and you’re done.
