Am I allowed to have multiple Maybank2u Savers-i accounts? If no, how do I close these extra accounts?
In line with the product terms and conditions, customers are allowed to maintain only one Maybank2u Savers/-i account.
Closure of extra Maybank2u Savers/-i accounts can be performed conveniently on Maybank2u web. Here are the steps:
- Log in to Maybank2u web.
- Under the ‘ACCOUNTS’ tab, look for ‘M2U Savers’ or ‘M2U Savers-i’ and select the three-dot menu.
- In the dropdown menu, select ‘Close Account’
- In the “Account Number’ field, select a different account as the Beneficiary Account to receive any remaining balance from the M2U Savers-i account that is being closed.
- Tick the Terms & Conditions box and proceed to select ‘TRANSFER’
- Proceed to approve the action via Secure2u and you’re done.
Upon successful account closure, you’ll receive your remaining balance in the selected Beneficiary Account and receive an SMS notification saying your Maybank2u Savers-i has been closed successfully
Note: A service charge of RM20.00 will be imposed if the account is closed within 3 months from the account activation date.
