Transaction Limit Cooling-Off Period

12-hour cooling-off period to safeguard your account

EN BM

Important update

Please be informed that starting 20 June 2025, we will be introducing a daily transaction limit to reload services. This is in line with our continued efforts to enhance the security of your transactions and ensure a safer online banking experience.

The default daily transaction limit will be set at RM200 for Prepaid Services and Game Credits, and you can increase this to a maximum of RM500 via Maybank2u web.

Any increase to your transaction limit will require authentication via Secure2u. Once you’ve increased your limit, a 12-hour cooling-off period will apply before your new limit takes effect on both the MAE app and Maybank2u web. During this period, you can only make reload transactions up to your current limit. Rest assured we will notify you via push notification and email on the MAE app when the cooling-off period starts and ends.

The daily transaction limit will be as follows:

Reload Limit Type

Default Daily Limit

Minimum Daily Limit

Maximum Daily Limit

Prepaid Services (Mobile Prepaid Malaysia/International, Internet and Others)

RM200

RM500

Game Credit with PIN

Here’s how to increase your daily transaction limit for reload services via Maybank2u web:

Step 1: Log in and go to ‘Settings’

Step 2: Under ‘Pay & Transfer’, go to ‘Reload Limit’

Step 3: Click the dropdown to select your new intended limit

Step 4: Approve your transaction via Secure2u and you’re done!

We highly recommend that you review your daily transaction limit for transfer, pay and reload services and only increase your limit based on your needs.

We also encourage you to constantly monitor your transactions for any unusual activity. If you suspect someone has unauthorised access to your Maybank2u account, quickly activate the Kill Switch via the MAE app or Maybank2u web to temporarily block access to your account(s) and protect your money.

What is the Transaction Limit Cooling-Off Period?

The cooling-off period is a 12-hour waiting period that begins when you submit a request to increase your transaction limit and ends when the change takes effect.

Throughout the cooling-off period, you can still make transactions within your current transaction limit.

After the cooling-off period ends, you can perform transactions up to your new limit.

You will receive push notifications from the MAE app or SMS to inform you when the cooling-off period starts and ends.

Why It Matters:

The cooling-off period is introduced to curb online banking fraud by safeguarding our customers should there be scammers attempting to increase transaction limit for unauthorised transactions. This cooling-off period serves as a security measure by providing our customers time to take preventive actions, such as contacting our Customer Care hotline at 1300-88-6688 or activating Kill Switch via the Maybank2u website or the MAE app to temporarily block the online banking account before the transaction can take effect.

This is in line with our continued efforts to enhance the safety and security of our customers’ online banking experience.
