New Maybank2u password reset process effective from 18 September 2025

Starting 18 September 2025, you can only reset your Maybank2u password directly on the MAE app. This update is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure a safer online banking experience for you. This is only applicable to Individual/Sole Proprietor users, there are no changes for M2UBiz and M2E users.

Kindly note that your Maybank2u password can only be reset via the MAE app. If you have not yet downloaded the MAE app, click here for more information.

Already know your Maybank2u password but want to change it? Here’s how to update it


If you know your Maybank2u password but want to update it, simply log into the MAE app and update it under Settings > Security > Change Password.

Forgot your Maybank2u password and need to reset it? You can do so directly from the MAE app


If you are an Individual or a Sole Proprietor user and have forgotten your Maybank2u password, you can reset it on the MAE app by following the steps below.

If you have problems logging into your Maybank2u account because of loss of Secure2u linked device, forgotten your MAE PIN, unable to verify your identity or unable to proceed with any of the steps above, you may reset your Maybank2u password by following the steps below:

Important note for setting a temporary M2U PIN


  • To set a temporary M2U PIN, head to your nearest Maybank ATM, insert your debit or credit card that was used to register your Maybank2u account for the first time, and then entering your 6-digit card PIN.
  • If you do not have a card, you can obtain an Access Number and set a temporary PIN by visiting your nearest Maybank branch, and seek assistance from our branch staff.
  • Please note that your temporary M2U PIN is only valid for 48 hours.

Please note that your Maybank2u account will be blocked for 24 hours upon 3 failed verification attempts.
