1. What is 'Pre-approved home loan/financing application'?

It is an agreement, in principle, by the bank to offer you a home loan/financing, subject to confirmation of your personal details and credit status.

Online pre-approval saves time instead of going to the bank. You can apply for a loan/financing any time of the day. You can use this channel to find out how much you are eligible to borrow/obtain financing or if you can afford a particular property you are interested in purchasing, besides checking the status of your loan/financing from the time you apply until the loan/financing is disbursed.

2. What happens if I do not qualify for a loan/financing?

You may not qualify for a loan/financing if the amount requested exceeds the limit which you are eligible for. In such an instance, you will be given a choice of amending the loan/financing amount and/or repayment period, or cancelling your loan/financing application.

3. How soon after applying can I check my application status?

You may use the 'Pre-approved Home Loan/Financing Enquiry' function any time after you have submitted your online application.

4. How soon after submitting my loan/financing application will the Consumer Sales Officer contact me?

You will be contacted within 3 working days. Otherwise, you should call our Customer Care hotline at 1-300-88-6688.

5. How long will it take for the bank to release or disburse the money for my home loan/financing?

The bank will take about 3 months to disburse funds for a home loan/financing.

6. Can I apply to buy a piece of property anywhere in Malaysia and get online loan/financing pre-approval?

You can get pre-approval online if the property under construction is end-financed by Maybank. However, this is not required if the house has been completed or if you are re-financing your property.

7. How long will it take to process my loan/financing application?

The loan/financing approval process takes about a week.

8. I live in Kuala Lumpur but plan to buy a house in Penang. Can I get an online loan/financing pre-approval?

Yes, you can. An online pre-approved loan/financing application means that you can apply for a loan/financing wherever you are.
