Dear Valued Customers,

Please be informed that starting 8 November 2022, you’ll need to use Secure2u on the MAE app to authorise all DuitNow Transfers and to approve adding of new Favourites, as SMS TAC authorisation will no longer be available for these transactions. This is part of our continuous effort to enhance your online banking security and minimise the risks of TAC fraud, in line with Bank Negara Malaysia’s latest update to combat financial scams.

Here’s how to activate Secure2u on the MAE app:

Step 1: Launch the app and tap ‘Secure2u’ under Quick Actions

Step 2: Tap ‘Activate Now’

Step 3: Confirm your mobile number and enter the One Time Password (OTP) received via SMS

Step 4: Enter your ID number

Step 5: Confirm your device name and you’re all set!

Kindly note that there will be a 12-hour activation period when you enable Secure2u on the MAE app for the first time, or when you enable Secure2u on the MAE app on a different device. To help prevent unauthorised approvals, you will only be able to use Secure2u to approve transactions after 12 hours.

Here’s how to use Secure2u:

Step 1: Log in to the MAE app or Maybank2u website to perform a transaction.

Step 2: You'll receive a Secure2u push notification via the MAE app on your registered device.

Step 3: Open the notification and approve or reject the transaction with just one tap, no additional login required!

Enjoy safer and quicker authorisations with Secure2u on the MAE app, available for download here:

If you are using Secure2u on the M2U MY app, you will still be able to approve transactions as usual. However, we highly recommend making the switch to the MAE app as it has all the M2U features and more.
