[UPDATED] Transactions that require authorisation via Secure2u on MAE

Dear Valued Customers,

Please be informed that starting 12 April 2023, Secure2u will be the only authorisation method for the following transactions made via Maybank2u web:

Services

Transactions

Fixed Deposit

  • Make a placement

Debit Card

  • Replace/renew card
  • Set contactless limit
  • E-commerce activation

Maybank Overseas Transfer

  • Transfer to Singapore
  • Add favourite transfer to Singapore

My Goals

  • Create a goal
  • Remove a goal
  • Top up goal

Wills & Wasiat

  • Write a will/wasiat

This is part of our continuous effort to enhance our online banking security, in line with Bank Negara Malaysia’s latest requirement to combat financial scams.

How to activate Secure2u on the MAE app:

Step 1: Launch the app and tap ‘Secure2u’ under Quick Actions

Step 2: Tap ‘Activate Now’

Step 3: Confirm your mobile number and enter the One Time Password (OTP) received via SMS

Step 4: Enter your ID number

Step 5: Confirm your device name and you’re all set!

Kindly also note that there will be a 12-hour ‘cooling off’ activation period when you enable Secure2u on the MAE app for the first time, or when you enable Secure2u on the MAE app on a different device. In efforts to help prevent unauthorised approvals, you will only be able to use Secure2u to approve transactions after 12 hours.

How to use Secure2u:

Step 1: Log in to the MAE app or Maybank2u website to perform a transaction

Step 2: You'll receive a Secure2u push notification via the MAE app on your registered device

Step 3: Open the notification and approve or reject the transaction with just one tap, no additional login required

If you are using Secure2u on the M2U MY app, you will still be able to approve transactions as usual. However, we recommend making the switch to the MAE app as it has all the M2U banking features and more.
