Samsung Pay on Gear is an extension of Samsung Pay; a secure and easy-to-use mobile payment service/ app that enables the use of credit, debit and prepaid cards. Earlier, consumer can make purchases with their compatible Samsung phones but now they can also make purchases using Gear (now only support S3 Classic and Frontier) at retail merchants upon enrolment of their Maybank Visa Cards into Samsung Gear Application. By using Samsung Pay on Gear, customers can now make purchases without phone – only using Gear!
Like Samsung Pay; Samsung Pay on Gear supports both NFC (Near Field Communication / Contactless) and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission), which is a new proprietary technology widely, accepted by all retail merchants regardless of whether the terminals support NFC or traditional magnetic stripe.
