New to auctions? Here’s a simple guide so you know exactly what to expect, from browsing to bringing your pre-owned car home.
Explore auction dates and vehicles that interest you. All vehicles listed are sold on an ‘as-is, where-is’ basis. Auctions are listed by state and storeyard.
Click the “Register to Bid” button under Auction Schedule to sign up with the Auction House and participate in the bidding process. A refundable deposit is required, and additional charges may apply. Please refer to the Auction House’s terms and conditions for full details on applicable fees and charges.
If you are interested in any auction cars listed in the Auction Schedule, you may physically view the car to access the car’s conditions and other details. The date for viewing the car is indicated in the Auction Schedule.
To bid for an auction car, please attend the scheduled live auction and participate in the bidding process. Bidding will start from the reserve price, so ensure that you stay within your budget. If you win the bid, your deposit will be deducted from the final car price.
If you win the auction, you will receive an official contract from the auction house. This contract confirms your winning bid and outlines the remaining balance you need to pay.
Pay the remaining balance (after deducting the deposit) to the Bank within 5 working days of the auction. Payment can be made via online transfer or at any Maybank branch counter. All required payment details can be found in the contract issued by the auction house. If the payment is not made within the stipulated timeframe, your deposit and any related charges will be forfeited.
Once the remaining balance has been paid, the Bank will issue a release letter to the storeyard, after which you may collect the vehicle. If you appoint a representative to collect the vehicle on your behalf, an Authorisation Letter will be required.
Contact the Bank to obtain the vehicle ownership documents needed for your ownership transfer. The Bank’s contact details will be provided in the contract.
You will need to make an appointment with Puspakom to inspect your car. The Puspakom inspection report is compulsory so you can transfer ownership.
Ownership will be transferred once all ownership documents are completed and the vehicle has no outstanding issues with the relevant authorities.
You will need to complete a thumbprint verification at any JPJ counter or via the MySikap app. After that, you can print your Vehicle Ownership Certificate.
