Important Announcement: Update your Android and iOS operating system to continue using your MAE app

Dear Valued Customers,

Please be informed that MAE app users on Android and iOS devices may need to update their devices’ operating system (OS) in order to continue using the MAE app. This is part of our continuous effort to keep your online banking experience safe and secure. To avoid any interruption, kindly ensure your device OS meets the required version before the effective dates stated below:

No action is required if your device is already running on the required Android or iOS OS. This also does not affect Huawei devices which are running on HarmonyOS.

FAQ

1. How do I check or update my mobile device’s OS?
You will need to go to ‘Settings’ on your mobile device and select ‘About Device’. There should be an option for you to upgrade your OS version.

2. I’m unable to update my mobile device’s OS. What do I do?
You may need to check if your mobile device is compatible with the required OS version.

3. If my mobile device’s OS is not updated before the effective dates, can I still use the current MAE app?
Yes, you can continue using the MAE app (version 0.8.4 on Android / version 2.8 on iOS). You will however be unable to update the app from the Apple App Store / Google Play Store on your current OS . As such, we strongly encourage you to update your OS to Android 9 or above / iOS 13 or above to continue receiving MAE app updates.

4. What happens if I do not update my OS by the effective dates?
You will no longer be able to use the MAE app on your mobile device. As such, we strongly encourage you to update your OS to Android 9 or above / iOS 13 or above to avoid any interruption.

5. Why is the MAE app only usable on Android 9 / iOS 13 and above?
Your online banking security is our utmost priority and that's why we strongly encourage you to update your OS to a  secured OS. OS updates continuously improve the performance, stability and most importantly, the security of your mobile device and the apps you’re using.
