MAYBANK ISLAMIC ANNOUNCES THE LUCKY WINNERS FOR SME & BB SAVE & DRIVE CAMPAIGN KUALA LUMPUR, NOVEMBER 11th : Two lucky customers of Maybank Islamic each drove home a 4WD Toyota HILUX today, after winning the bank’s Save & Drive Deposit Campaign, while 20 other customers each won a Petronas petrol vouchers worth RM2,000. The winners of the HILUX, worth RM100, 000 each, Mr Pang Chin and Madam Yu Kong Mee are customers of Maybank Islamic’s Premier Mudharabah Account-I (PMA-i), a Shariah compliant current account for the bank’s Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Business Banking (BB) customers. The Save & Drive Campaign is a year-long deposit campaign which commenced last April 7th and will end March 31st 2015. Maybank Islamic Chief Executive Officer En Muzaffar Hisham presented the prizes to the first group of winners for the campaign period of between April 7th and September 30th, at Laman, Menara Maybank here today. Also present were Maybank Group President and CEO, Datuk Farid Alias and Maybank Islamic Head, Consumer Financial Services En Hamirullah Borhan. In his speech, En Hamirullah said the ultimate objective of the Save & Drive campaign is to entice customers to increase their current account deposit growth in an account which pays a monthly dividend of up to 1 per cent. He said Maybank Islamic is committed to serve the needs of its SME and BB customers and growing the bank’s deposit growth, which is aligned with its objective to grow the bank’s lending activities to SMEs. “To date, we are happy to note that the campaign has managed to generate close to RM1 billion deposit growth from these two segments,” he said. He added that customers of Maybank Islamic can rest assured that the bank, through its various deposits and financing facilities will provide small businesses with the necessary financial support to allow them to be creative in conducting and growing their businesses. “We are cognisant of the fact that SMEs have been the backbone of the country’s economic growth and as a bank which emphasises on humanising the financial services and wanting to be in the heart of the community, we at the Group will continue to strengthen our reach to the SMEs via our products,’ said Hamirullah.Both the Hilux lucky winners, owners of food businesses in Johor Bahru, were thrilled when they were informed of their good fortune considering that they are new customers of Maybank Islamic. “This campaign was made very easy for both new and old customers because the entry was automatic. I did not expect to win and very happy that I was one of the lucky two winners,” said Madam Yu who operates a Japanese restaurant in Johor Bahru. Another winner Mr Pang, who owns a company which produces food sauces for export, said for the campaign, all he had to do was “continue to put funds into the account. It was that easy.” The Drive & Save Campaign is still open for both existing and new customers. All customers must maintain a PMA-i account throughout the campaign period with a minimum incremental average daily balance of RM1,000. New customers will be eligible for one contest entry while existing customers can enjoy up to two contest entries.
