Reinstatement is the process of reactivating your policy in the event of it being lapsed. A policy may become lapsed if no premium is paid during the grace period.

Grace period is a period of time given by insurance companies to customers to pay their premium after the premium due date has passed. Currently, Etiqa Insurance provides a grace period of thirty-one (31) days. During this period, you will still continue to enjoy full benefits of your policy.

Once the grace period expires and if the premium still remains unpaid, the policy will become lapsed and all benefits offered by the policy ceases.

However, if your policy has acquired a cash value, it will be used as a temporary means of paying for your premium under the Automatic Premium Loan feature until the cash value is exhausted.

To apply

To reinstate your policy, you would be required to submit the following:
  • A completed Health Declaration Form (Download PDF form)
  • Payment of all overdue premiums inclusive of interest currently set at 8% per annum (the rate is subject to the prevailing rate at the point of application).
