What is TAC Fraud?

The Transaction Authorisation Code (TAC) is a unique, 6-digit code that provides a layer of identity authentication before you perform transactions via the Maybank2u web. Your TAC can only be used for ONE transaction. Scammers will attempt to get your online banking and personal information such as your username, password and mobile number. The scammer may contact you via email, social media, phone call, or text message and trick you into giving them your TAC number so they can complete the online banking transaction.

How to protect yourself TAC fraud?

  • Do not reply to any SMS or WhatsApp messages asking for your TAC number. Contact your bank immediately.
  • Do not share your TAC number with anyone. Always keep your TAC number to yourself.
  • Your TAC number can only be registered to you and not someone else.
  • If you might have given your TAC number too someone, contact your bank immediately.
