Noor Lizah

A distinguished Paralympian and mother of three, Noor Lizah has been overcoming challenges for most of her life. Before joining the Maybank R.I.S.E programme, she struggled to make a living working two jobs. Today, she runs a full-fledged bakery. With the help of the programme, her income has increased tenfold. This has improved the lives of her family, put her children through university and also allowed her to contribute to her community by creating jobs. With her business running smoothly, Noor Lizah was able to direct her focus elsewhere - her tenpin bowling training which led to her winning Gold during the 2017 Kuala Lumpur Para ASEAN Games.

Malathi & Jayathi

Twin sisters Malathi and Jayathi have faced many challenges together; from failed marriages to each having had to amputate a leg due to diabetes.  Having lost their jobs, they ventured into various businesses such as recycling tins and bottles, selling newspapers until they managed to get enough funds to open their own grocery store. Through the Maybank R.I.S.E programme, they also began selling Murukku in bulk to weddings and other events. Amidst their success, Malathi and Jayathi made it their duty to give to society by sponsoring groceries to those in need during the MCO as well as providing free breakfasts for those who go through dialysis treatment at the nearby centre.
