1. Who is eligible to apply for a Maybank Credit Card?
To be eligible for a Maybank Credit Card, generally, you must be a Malaysian or an expatriate working in Malaysia, be between 21 and 65 years old (for principal cardholders), and meet the minimum annual income requirements.
2. How can I apply for a Maybank Credit Card online?
You can apply easily via the MAE app or Maybank2u web by selecting your preferred credit card, filling in the form, and submitting the required documents.
3. What documents do I need for the application?
Generally, you’ll need a copy of your MyKad, latest income statement, and bank statement. Additional documents may be required depending on card applied.
4. How long does it take to get approved?
Once you've submitted your application and documents, processing typically takes 3 working days. You’ll receive an update via email or SMS.
5. How do I check my credit card application status?
You’ll be notified via SMS or email within 3 working days of your application. If you haven’t received any updates after that, feel free to contact

You can check out the catalogue and redeem the point directly on the MAE app or Maybank2u web.
7. How do I resume my credit card application?
To continue your application, please use the same platform where you first started:
- If you began your application on Maybank2u Web (M2U Web), resume it via M2U Web : click on the resume button
- If you applied using the MAE App, resume your application through the MAE App as well : click on the resume button
8. What file formats are accepted for uploading documents?
To ensure your documents are uploaded successfully:
- MAE App: While the app does not specify formats, we recommend uploading files in PDF, JPG, or PNG formats. Maximum file size allowed is 10MB.
- M2U App: Accepted formats are PDF, JPG, and PNG, up to 10MB.
9. Is there a time limit for each application page?
Yes. Each page in the application process must be completed within 4 minutes to avoid a session timeout.
10. Why am I seeing an error – service unavailable?
If you're an existing Maybank user (ETB) with M2U access but have not registered a mobile number, you may encounter a service error.
- "Please register/update your mobile number at the nearest branch." This is because a registered mobile number is required to proceed with your credit card application.
11. What should I do if I can’t complete the online application?
