Biometric authentication is an extra layer of security to verify your identity. You can use your device’s Face ID/Facial Recognition or Fingerprint.

What types of biometric authentication can I use to approve transactions?

The MAE app supports the biometric authentication methods enabled on your device, such as Face ID/Facial Recognition or Fingerprint.

I am not able to use biometric authentication right now. How do I approve my transaction?

You can use your MAE app PIN instead when prompted.

What is MAE app PIN?

The MAE app PIN is the 6-digit PIN you created when setting up your MAE app.

Why do I need to use biometric authentication to approve my transaction?

It helps keep your account safe and prevents unauthorised transactions.

Why is the keypad of the MAE app PIN randomised?

The numbers are randomised for security purposes. This makes it harder for fraudsters to guess your PIN and prevents them from approving transactions remotely.

I have forgotten my MAE app PIN. How do I reset it?

You can go to Settings > Security > Input password > Forgot PIN > Enter new MAE app PIN.

How do I enable biometric authentication for my MAE app?

You can go to Settings > Security > Input password > App biometric login.

Does Maybank store my biometric data?

No. Your biometric data always remains on your device and is never shared with Maybank.
