Effective 27 January 2026, we are updating the contactless transaction process for all Maybank Cards used with Google Pay. For purchases above RM250, you are no longer required to key in your card PIN, providing you with a smoother payment experience.

However, a maximum limit of RM2,500 per transaction will now apply. For transactions exceeding this amount, you will be required to use your physical card.

Here's what you need to know:

Credit Card: You may continue to perform multiple contactless transactions up to your card's available limit, provided each contactless transaction does not exceed RM2,500.

Debit Card: Each contactless transaction is capped at RM2,500. Transaction will be declined if it exceeds the daily purchase limit that you have set. For added security, you may choose to lower your Google Pay transaction limit to below RM2,500 by adjusting your debit card purchase limit via the M2U platform.
