Enhancement of Maybank Credit Card and Maybank Islamic Credit Card-i Terms and Conditions
Dear Valued Cardmembers,
Please be informed that effective 16 July 2021, the following Terms and Conditions in relation to the use of Maybank Credit Card and Maybank Islamic Credit Card-i will be updated.
Some of the updates include (but not limited to):
- Elaboration on card usage for transactions that may be considered to be Cash Advance and will be charged Cash Advance Fee
- Inclusion of a new clause to elaborate on the prohibition of card usage for illegal/unlawful activities
- Update on the definition of Cash Withdrawals

Clause 3.5 |
You should not use your Credit Card for the purpose of betting, including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting, wagers at race tracks. If you do so, these transactions will be considered to be Cash Withdrawals, and we will impose the relevant Cash Withdrawal Fee on each such transaction. |
The use of your Credit Card for the purpose of betting, including but not limited to lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting, and wagers at race tracks is discouraged. If you do so, these transactions will be considered to be Cash Advance, and we will impose the relevant Cash Advance Fee on each such transaction. |

Notwithstanding and without prejudice to Clause 3.5 above, you are prohibited from using your Credit Card for activities which are forbidden by the law and/or illegal, such as online betting. Your Credit Card will be terminated immediately upon the Bank discovering that you have used your Credit Card for any unlawful and/or illegal activity. |

Clause 22.1 Definition of “Cash Withdrawal” |
Means a cash withdrawal made by way of submission of a Cash Withdrawal Draft; |
Means the use of the Credit Card for the withdrawal of cash or in any form of cash in any currency and the use of Credit Card for the purpose of betting or gaming transactions, including but not limited to purchase of lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting, wagers at race or purchase of travellers cheques, foreign currency, money orders and quasi cash transaction representing a Merchant’s sale of items (including digital currency i.e. cryptocurrency or related/similar to cryptocurrency). |
