Certless: Discontinuation of certificate issuance for Conventional Fixed Deposit, Islamic Term Deposit and Term Fund-i placement for retail customers

Effective 7 December 2019, Maybank and Maybank Islamic Berhad will no longer be issuing certificates for new Conventional Fixed Deposit, Islamic Term Deposit and Term Fund-i placements made over-the-counter (OTC) by retail individual customers. However, an acknowledgement slip will be provided to depositors as evidence of the placement made.

The implementation of Certless placements will provide greater convenience for customers as presentation of placement slips for the upliftment of the Conventional Fixed Deposits, Islamic Term Deposits and Term Fund-i will no longer be required from that date.

In addition, effective 23 November 2019, Electronic statements (e-statements) for Conventional Fixed Deposit, Islamic Term Deposit and Term Fund-i will be made available to retail customers prior to the implementation of Certless placements. The implementation of e-statements will allow customers the benefit of monitoring your Conventional Fixed Deposit, Islamic Term Deposit and Term Fund-i transactions online via Maybank2u. Customers can access, download and print the statement anywhere and anytime you are connected to the internet.
