Fad'l Mohamed was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Maybank Investment Bank on 1 October 2018.
He joined Maybank IB as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in March 2015 and was primarily responsible for overseeing the investment banking and advisory business in Malaysia, playing a significant role as the firm was recognised as Malaysia’s Best Investment Bank for the last four consecutive years during his stint.
Fad’l began his career as a practising lawyer with Messrs Rashid & Lee before joining the Securities Commission in 1993. Thereafter, he moved to Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, an investment bank. In 2004, Fad’l founded Maestro Capital Sdn Bhd, a licensed corporate finance adviser focusing on mergers and acquisitions, fund raising and initial public offerings. As Managing Director, he led the firm for more than 10 years prior to joining Maybank IB.
Fad’l holds a Masters in Business Administration from Imperial College Business School and a degree in Law from the University of London.
Mohamad Yasin was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Maybank Kim Eng Group and Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (Maybank IB) effective 1 October 2018.
He oversees both the Malaysian and regional businesses comprising Brokerage, Derivatives, Asset Management, and Securities Services as well as the MKE International Business portfolio covering Vietnam, India, US, UK and Hong Kong, which are 5 out of the 10 countries that make up MKE’s operating platform. Included in Yasin’s responsibilities is the management of the functions of the MKE CEO’s Office which include Strategy, Business and Organisational Management, as well as Performance Management.
A Maybank scholar, Yasin has more than 21 years of experience in the corporate and financial industry, more than 12 years were spent in the capacity as CFO. He was appointed as CFO of Suria Capital Holdings Berhad in 2006 as well as the first CFO of Alkhair International Islamic Bank Malaysia Berhad in 2008.
Yasin is a Chartered Banker (CB) of Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. He is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), and a Fellow Member of the Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA) issued by the Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), Bahrain. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). He graduated from the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM) with a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) and an MBA in Finance.
Malique Sidique has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Maybank Kim Eng Group (MKE) as well as Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (Maybank IB) effective 1 October 2018.
Malique oversees Finance, Operations, Procurement and Administration functions across the 10 countries under MKE’s operating platform. He also supervises the Finance and Operations of Maybank Asset Management Group and Maybank Securities Services.
Malique has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. He started his career at Flemmings Chartered Accountants, UK where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then joined Credit Suisse, London as Regulatory Analyst, subsequently moving to Royal Bank of Scotland, London as Regulatory Accountant. Upon returning to Malaysia, he joined CIMB as Senior Manager for Financial Planning & Forecasting prior to joining Maybank IB in 2012.
Malique holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
Mazhatulshima Mohd Zahid was appointed Chief Risk Officer of Maybank Investment Bank effective 1 July 2018. She has 23 years of experience in risk management spanning multinational, regional and local banks. Prior to joining MKE, Shima had worked with OCBC Bank Malaysia for nearly 9 years where she first held the position of Head, Market Risk Management. Subsequently, she was appointed as Head of Internal Audit, covering both the conventional and Islamic Banking business. Shima has also held various senior roles in market risk management in Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia; Hong Leong Bank Berhad; and AmMerchant Bank Berhad (now known as AmBank Group).
Shima holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Roosevelt University, Chicago, USA, and is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) under the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
Teo Hoe Sing was appointed Chief Information Officer of Maybank Kim Eng Group, effective 1 September 2017. He is responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of IT initiatives to support Maybank Kim Eng’s overall business and strategic goals.
Teo served as Assistant Vice President, Direct Market Access in Maybank Kim Eng Singapore between 2006 and 2008, and subsequently rejoined the company in 2010 as Senior Vice President responsible for its trading platforms and IT security. In 2015, he was promoted to be the Head of IT, Singapore, and subsequently took on the role of Acting Chief Information Officer Maybank Kim Eng Group before his current appointment as Chief Information Officer.
He graduated from University of Portsmouth, England with a Bachelor of Science in Computing.
Sin Jin was appointed Head, Retail Brokerage of Maybank Investment Bank on 1 January 2018.
He is responsible for leading Retail Brokerage business to the next level of performance and growth to become a meaningful revenue contributor to Maybank Investment Bank. In line with this, he focuses on driving growth across all key retail client segments, revenue maximization, expand income streams, mobile strategy as well as strengthening synergy across sales channels in Malaysia.
Sin Jin joined the Equities Division of Maybank Investment Bank in 2011 as Head of Online Client Services (OCS) and Head of Sales, where he led the retail bank broking business transformation. Sin Jin was subsequently appointed as Deputy Head, Retail Brokerage a position he held until his appointment as Head of Retail Brokerage.
Sin Jin has over 18 years of experience in retail sales, strategic marketing, online trading, and staff development programs. Prior to joining Maybank Investment Bank, Sin Jin was with CIMB, driving retail sales, business development and marketing in the retail equities division. He graduated from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia with a Master of Business Administration, and holds a Diploma in Sport and Wellness Management from Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore.
Wong Cheong Keat joined Maybank IB as a Director of the Investment Banking Division in 2007 and has assumed his present position as Co-Head, Corporate Finance and Advisory on 1st July 2018. He has over 15 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking and Client Coverage and has been involved in various corporate exercises including capital markets fund-raising, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. He started his career with Ernst & Young (1992 – 1997) and joined the banking fraternity when he joined AmInvestment Bank Berhad (1997 – 2006) before a short stint with Puncak Niaga Holdings Berhad (2006 – 2007).
CK holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accountancy and Finance from the University of Heriot-Watt, United Kingdom and is a Certified Public Accountant, Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Nik Azhan joined Maybank Investment Bank as Head, Institutional Sales (Malaysia) on 3 September 2018, bringing with him more than 23 years of industry experience.
He is responsible for overseeing the operations and driving the business of Institutional Sales in Malaysia. Prior to joining Maybank IB, Nik Azhan was CIMB’s Head of Institutional Sales in Malaysia, and had also served in several other financial institutions in various capacities.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Major in Finance, Minor in Economics) from George Washington University, U.S and a Master of Commerce, specialising in Finance from University Of New South Wales, Australia.
Roselawati Yaacob joined Maybank on 1 June 2015, bringing more than 17 years of human capital experience to her role as Regional Head of Human Capital for Maybank Kim Eng Group.
Prior to joining Maybank, Roselawati was Head of HR OCBC Al Amin as well as Vice President of Human Resources at OCBC Bank where her portfolio included Consumer Financial Services, Global Banking (Treasury and Investment Banking), Chairman's Office, Group Risk, Finance, and Legal & Compliance, amongst others. She is a specialist in compensation and benefits and has played a critical role in driving the talent agenda at OCBC Bank through her direct involvement in special projects with the CEO.
