Maybank Partners with PVAO for Veterans Pension
Maybank Philippines, a member of the Maybank Group, Malaysia’s largest bank, recently
signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine Veterans’ Affairs Office (PVAO)
enabling veterans to receive their pension through their Maybank ATM accounts.
The formalization of the agreement was held at the PVAO Office at the Camp Aguinaldo
Compound in Quezon City and was graced by Hon. Ernesto G. Carolina, Undersecretary for
Civil, Veterans & Reserve Affairs (4th from right), and Mr. Enrique B. Jimenez, Senior
Vice President, Maybank Philippines (4th from left). Other PVAO dignitaries present were
Atty. Romeo S. Lazo, PVAO Deputy Administrator (2nd from right), Mr. Nostradamus A. Villanueva,
PVAO CEO & Director III (3rd from left) and Mr. Heriberto L Ruarto, Chief, Financial & Management
Division (far left). Rounding up the Maybank team are Ms. Susan S. Catindig, Vice President & Cluster
Head (center), Mr. Wilmer R. Tam, Vice President & Head for Information Services (2nd
from left), Ms. Fe Arceo, Branch Head for Camp Aguinaldo (3rd from right) and Mr. Jayson
Mendoza, Head for Salary Loans.
During the event, Undersecretary Carolina commented that
the partnership is a step closer to the Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s
vision of professionalizing the management of government assets by partnering with private
institutions.
