1. What do I need to bring to open an imteen-i Account ?
You and your parent/guardian will need to go to the nearest Maybank branch and bring along all relevant documents i.e. your birth certificate/IC and the parent/guardian’s IC and other supporting documents to verify parentage or guardianship. The parent or guardian will need to sign an Indemnity Letter with RM10-00 for stamping fees.
 
2. What is the Indemnity Letter?
The Indemnity Letter is a compulsory document to be signed by the parent or guardian as a condition to open a new imteen-i Savings Account as well as to authorise access to Internet Banking Facilities (Maybank2u) and use of Maybankard Bankard (ATM) card.
 
3. What is the minimum deposit for opening an imteen-i Savings Account?
The minimum deposit to open an imteen-i Account is RM50-00.
 
4. Can I open an imteen-i Account with my parents?
The imteen-i Account cannot be opened jointly or In-Trust with parents or guardians. It must be opened on your own.
 
5. How do I perform my banking transactions with the imteen-i Account?
imteen-i is a passbookless Account – transactions are done minus a passbook. You will receive a Maybankard Bankard (ATM) card which you can use at any Maybank ATM, Cash Deposit Machine or Cheque Machine, with access at over 1,500 ATMS around the country and even more access via PLUS networks both in Malaysia and other countries. You can also use your Maybankard as a debit card at participating merchants.

You have online access to imteen-i Internet Banking Facilities via www.maybank2u.com (M2U) homepage at myzone.
 
6. Since I do not have a passbook, how will I know the balance in my imteen-i Account?
You are able to check and view your account records via:
  • Quarterly statements – received if you maintain an average account balance of at least RM1,000-00 throughout the quarter (3 months).
  • ATM  - view a record of your last 10 transactions
  • Maybank2U.com  - view your transactions over the last 3 months
 
7. How do I access my imteen-i Account through ATM?
You need to click on “savings” to access your imteen-i Account at all related ATMs.
 
8. Are there any restrictions imposed at ATM facilities?
Yes, you are not provided access to the following services:
  • 3rd Party Transfer,
  • Selectable Withdrawal Limit
  • Selectable 3rd Party Transfer Limit
  • Purchase Insurance
  • Paybills - Mayban Assurance Bhd
  • Inter Bank Fund Transfer
  • Electronic Share Application (Share Issue / ESA)
  • Phone Banking Application
  • Maybank2u Application
  • Mobile Financial Services Registration
  • M2U Mobile Registration/Deregistration
Note: All transactions are subject to a limit of RM500 per day, per account.
 
9. Where do I apply for Maybank2u access?
Application for Maybank2u access can only be done at Maybank branches as application via ATM is blocked.
 
10. What are the imteen-i Internet Banking Services offered to me at Maybank2u?
The services are as follows:

Online Banking
Viewing account summary and Internet transaction history

Funds Transfer
Transferring funds within my own accounts (up to RM500-00 per day, per account)

Prepaid Top-up
Purchasing mobile and Internet prepaid reloads (up to RM100-00 per day) as well as IDD and STD prepaid reloads online

SMS & Downloads
Enjoying credit top-ups, SMS and downloads

Online Bill Payment
Paying bills online via Registered Payment, Open Payment, Bill Registration/Deregistration or making enquiries/cancellation of Future Payment.

Utilities
Making TAC Request, changing password, updating profile, updating of contact information and updating mobile number

 
11. Are there any restrictions imposed at Maybank2u?
Access to services such as 3rd Party Transfer, Online Stock, Online Insurance, Online Unit Trust, e-Share application, Investment, EPF and Mobile Financial Services is not provided.
 
12. How do I access imteen-i Internet Banking Facilities?
Just login to www.maybank2u.com and thereafter click to myzone to access the exciting range of services designed specially for imteen-i accountholders.
 
13. When will the ATM and Maybank2u restrictions be removed?
Upon reaching the age of 18 years old, you may access all ATM and Maybank2u services, as your account will then be treated as an adult account with no restrictions.
 
14. What is the special interest rate offered by imteen-i?
The imteen-i Account allows you to enjoy a special one-month General Investment Account-i (GIA-i) for your savings.
 
15. How do I qualify for the special General Investment Account-i (GIA-i)?
imteen-i Account-holders will be entitled to the special one-month General Investment Account-i (GIA-i) if you meet the following criteria:
  • You make only one (1) withdrawal per month for 6 consecutive months i.e. from 1st January to 30th June and from 1st July to 31st December
  • Your age has not reached 18 years old
Otherwise, a lower rate under Kawanku Savings Account will be applied.
 
16. When and how is the interest paid?
The interest is calculated daily and credited twice a year, i.e. every 30th June and 31st December of the year.
 
17. Do I have to maintain a minimum balance?
No. There is no minimum balance requirement. However, to enjoy benefits such as the Takaful Personal Accident (PA) Insurance coverage and Medical Benefits, your minimum balance should not be less than RM500-00, or RM1,000-00 for Cash Award claims.
 
18. Is there a limit to how much I can take out of my imteen-i Account?
Yes, imteen-i accountholders are subject to a debiting limit of RM500-00 per day via all delivery channels namely bank counters (OTC), online (M2U), ATM, MEPS, EFTPOS and Regional Switch except for all system postings i.e. SI. However, withdrawals of more than the limit are allowed at OTC.
 
19. What are the criteria to enjoy the full benefits under imteen-i Account?
  • An imteen-i accountholder must have a minimum balance of RM500-00 in the account to be able to enjoy all benefits extended such as Takaful Personal/Accident (PA) Insurance coverage, Medical Benefits and Cash Awards.
  • Age has not reached 18 years old
 
20. What does imteen-i’s Takaful Personal Accident (PA) insurance and medical benefits cover?
All imteen-i accountholders are automatically covered with Takaful Personal Accident (PA) coverage and medical benefits as long as he/she maintains a minimum account balance of RM500-00. The more savings, the higher your coverage:

21. What is the grace period to notify your Maybank branch of any accident for insurance claim?
For insurance claims, accountholder is given 21 days from the date of the accident to notify SSC.
 
22. What is the Cash Award for Academic Excellence?
The Cash Award for Academic Excellence is given for excellent grades in PMR, SPM, STPM/A-Levels and Degree level. The cash awards are as follows:

23. How do I qualify for the Cash Award for Excellence?
To qualify, you need to meet the following criteria:

Maintain RM1,000 in the account during the examination year for PMR, SPM, STPM/A-Levels until the date of submission for Cash Award

New Accountholders

Opening and maintaining RM1,000 in the account during the examination year for PMR, SPM, STPM/A-Levels until the date of submission for Cash Award

1st Class Honours Degree

  • At the age of 18, the Accountholder must maintain RM1,000 in the account
  • Account must be opened before reaching the age of 18
  • Account must be maintained until the date of submission of Cash Award
 
24. When and where can I claim for the Cash Award for Academic Excellence?
The submission for Cash Award claim is to be done at the accountholder’s HOME BRANCH within one (1) month from the official results announcement.
 
25. If I have more than one Minor account, am I entitled to claim more than one Cash Award?
No, the Cash Award for academic excellence can only be claimed once irrespective of the number of savings account held by the imteen-i accountholder.
 
26. What do I do if I need I’ve lost my ATM card or forgotten my Maybank2u password?
For replacement of lost/stolen ATM card and/or forgotten card pin number, or to reset Maybank2u password and/or pin number, you need to go to the nearest Maybank branch with your parent/guardian. Please remember to bring along all relevant documents for verification purposes.
 
27. If I am a foreigner, am I subject to the signing of the Indemnity Letter?
The signing of the Indemnity Letter is compulsory for all parents/guardians, both local and foreign, as a condition to open an imteen-i Account.
