Dear Valued Customers,

We have been notified by a few of our customers that they have received calls from individuals posing as Maybank officers, using a spoofed Caller ID (a method of replacing the original phone number).

The call appears to be from our Maybank Lost Card (Credit Card/Charge Card) phone number (03-2072 1373). The caller claimed that the customer owes an outstanding balance with Maybank. The caller also demanded for funds and threatened to freeze the customers' bank accounts if they do not follow their instructions.

Please do not fall victim to these scams or fraud. If you receive a similar phone call, here is what you need to do:

  • DO NOT follow the instructions from the unknown caller.
  • Call the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) at 1800-188-030 or e-mail to aduanskmm@cmc.gov.my to lodge a report by providing the following information:
    • Your mobile number.
    • Your telecommunication service provider.
    • Date and time of call received.
  • DO NOT share your banking details with anyone and DO NOT follow any instructions you receive from such callers.
  • To make a report, please contact our Fraud Hotline at +603-5891 4744 to seek clarification on the authenticity of the call.
