What is a Transaction Authorisation Code (TAC)?
A Transaction Authorisation Code (TAC) is a unique, 6-digit computer-generated code that provides a second layer of identity authentication before you are allowed to perform specific transactions online.
Features
- TAC can only be used with your own Maybank2u.com login username and password
- It is only valid for the duration of each logon to Maybank2u.com and will expire immediately each time you logout
- You must request for a TAC before you can carry out any transaction which requires TAC
- You may perform several transactions with the same TAC
- If your TAC expires or you forget the 6-digit code, you must apply for a new one
When is TAC required?
The table shows the current transactions that require TAC.

How to register for TAC via Kawanku Phone Banking
You must be registered as a Kawanku Phone Banking user to register for TAC by phone.
- Call Maybank Group Customer Care at 1-300-88-6688
- Select language, then select "2" for Self Service Transaction
- Select "2" for TAC request and mobile phone maintanence
- Select "2" for Mobile phone maintanence
- Key in your Access number and Phone banking PIN for verification, when prompted
- Select "1" to register and change your mobile phone number
Note:
Only Sole Prop. customers may register for TAC via KPB. Individual account holders can register for TAC at the nearest Maybank Branch.
How to register for TAC at the Branch
- Visit your nearest branch
- Fill up the Kawanku Electronic Banking Services (KEBS) appplication form at the counter.
- Provide your mobile phone number for registration or cancellation of facility.
Note:
3rd parties are strictly not allowed to register for TAC on behalf of other customers
How to request for TAC
You can request for a TAC through 3 channels:
- Via Maybank2u.com-your TAC will be sent via SMS to your registered mobile phone
- Via Kawanku ATM-your TAC will be printed out on the ATM slip
- Via Kawanku Phone Banking (for registered Kawanku Phone Banking users only)-you'll get your TAC via integrated voice response (IVR) or fax
How to request for TAC if you're overseas
If you work abroad or travel frequently, you will be able to get your TAC two ways:
- From Maybank2u.com via mobile phone (SMS) if you have pre-registered your mobile number at the ATM or through Kawanku Phone Banking*. You must have a Malaysian mobile number and access to international call roaming service.
- Via Kawanku Phone Banking*. Call (603) 7844 3696 to make a TAC request. Please note, however, that you will have to bear the call charges.
*For registered Kawanku Phone Banking users.
Valid TAC delivery SMS numbers
When you receive TAC numbers on your mobile, it should come from one of the following shortcode SMS numbers:

If there is any unforeseen service interruption to any of the telco's platforms, we will deliver your TAC from the following authorised longcode numbers. This is to ensure that there us no hitch in the delivery of TAC to our customers.
