Customers can now for the first time pay for their online orders to Pizza Hut with either their credit card or Maybank2u.com direct debit following a partnership between Pizza Hut and Maybank today, which saw the launch of Malaysia's first online acceptance payment facility for online pizza ordering. Over 100 Pizza Hut restaurants offering Online Delivery Service will benefit from the online payment facility.

To enjoy the Online Delivery Service and online payment service a customer needs only a computer and internet access. The online payment accepts Maybank credit cards or any other Visa or MasterCard payment cards issued by Malaysian financial institutions.

"Our online payment service will bring even greater convenience to Pizza Hut and Maybank customers," said Tuan Haji Jamaludin Md Ali, Managing Director of QSR Brands Bhd, operator of Pizza Hut in Malaysia and Singapore.

"They can now order their food and pay for it very quickly and conveniently without having to waste their time searching for cash and waiting for change."

"The launching of our online pizza ordering and payment service is another milestone in our mission to find new ways and means to bring value to our customers."

According to early feedback received by Pizza Hut, customers value the convenience of using this new online ordering and payment service.

Ashraf Ali Kadir, Executive Vice President and Head of Cards & Payments, Maybank said, "We are happy to partner with QSR Brands to provide enhanced value propositions to our customers. Both customers and Pizza Hut will be able to enjoy the benefits of cashless transactions and resolve security issues associated with handling cash transactions."

Ashraf added that payment by credit cards or direct debit via Maybank2u.com will promote greater e-commerce and cashless payments activities. "Maybank is the leader in offering the widest range of delivery channels to promote cashless payments including in the fast food F & B sector. By offering more payment options, like today's online payment facility, we anticipate further increase in cashless transactions volume for the fast food sector."

"The latest online payment facility provides a viable option to generate revenue streams whilst increasing greater customer convenience and offering the potential of increased online usage by customers. We will continue to work with the fast food sector to promote greater e-commerce and online payments to bring the industry to the next level of service to customers," he said.

In conjunction with the launch, Pizza Hut and Maybank will hold the 'Pizza Hut Top Spender Online' contest from 1 April to 22 June 2008 offering prizes totaling RM18,000.

The contest is open to customers who order and pay on line either using a Maybankard credit card or via Maybank2u.com direct debit. The customer who spends the highest amount of money each week stands to win RM1,000 credited into his or her credit card balance or banking account by Maybank and also RM500 worth of Pizza Hut vouchers.

Customers who wish to pay by credit card are required to log on to www.pizzahut.com.my. They can also pay direct from their savings or current accounts via www.maybank2u.com only.

Pizza Hut, the largest pizza chain in Malaysia introduced its Online Delivery Service in mid-2007. Although customers could log into www.pizzahut.com.my to order their pizzas, payment was by cash on delivery only.
