Maybank today unveiled its newly renovated banking premises at Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur. Encik Johar Che Mat, Executive Vice President, Head, Retail Financial Services Group, launched the new banking concept at Bangsar Baru Sales and Service Centre (SSC) at a special ceremony attended by customers and residents of Bangsar.

Speaking at the ceremony, Encik Johar said that the Bangsar Baru SSC showcases the implementation of the new business model and transformation process of the Maybank Group.

"We have re-designed the layout, renamed the branch as Bangsar Baru Sales and Service Centre and enhanced facilities to give convenience and value to our customers. Being customer centric is to organize our resources and concerns according to the needs of targeted customers. The new business environment is designed to reinforce the transformation of the Maybank Group into a more focused customer-centric organization with emphasis on service quality, convenience, as well as better personal interaction and high value relationship building with our customers," said Encik Johar.

Encik Johar said that while Bangsar Baru SSC offers full banking transactions, the emphasis is to market and offer the full spectrum of Maybank Group's products and services to customers.

"The Bangsar Baru SSC offers all the features of a traditional bank with several differences. It offers a new dimension of financial services of the Maybank Group, that is, a one-stop financial service, as well as offers sales and services of the full range of products of the Group to customers. To enhance convenience and emphasise the service quality concept, we have also created several service areas or zones, as well as provided facilities and staff to cater to the customer's different banking needs, " added Encik Johar.

"The ground level service areas provide for self service banking transactions at the e-Kawanku Self-Service Terminal Area with its array of high capacity machines accessible 7 days a week, all year round from 6 am to 12 midnight each day. Customer Service Assistants are available as first contact to guide customers to the SSTs, the transaction counter at the first floor or the pool of professional sales and service personnel at the Sales and Advisory Area who will attend to their various banking needs quickly, " explained Encik Johar.

Encik Johar also said that the Group's recent investments in new high capacity cash/cheque deposit SSTs, the data warehouse project and the setting up of the Maybank Group Call Centre are testimony of the Group's commitment to leverage and integrate the Group`s synergies to provide high value relationship and quality service to customers.

Encik Johar announced that Mayban Finance Berhad had also re-located its Sri Damansara Branch and Kepong Baru Service Centre today to a new and bigger premise at Kepong Prima Branch. This new branch also offers the convenience of a full range of e-Kawanku SSTs. The Group will continue to invest and promote the new dimension of financial services offered at Bangsar Baru SSC throughout its extensive network to enable customers to experience a uniform and pleasant banking experience with Maybank.

In conjunction with the re-opening, Bangsar Baru SSC is offering special incentives and gifts on investment-related products from 26 August to 30 August 2002.
