All registered repossessors are advised to adhere to the following code of ethics issued by the Ministry Of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs :

Kesemua ejen penarik kenderaan yang berdaftar dinasihatkan supaya mematuhi kod etika yang dikeluarkan oleh Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna seperti berikutnya:

  1. As far as possible the number of authorised repossessors must be minimized unless circumstances warrant any additional assistance.
    (Bahawa bilangan ejen penarik kenderaan yang dibenarkan hendaklah diminimakan sewaktu menjalankan tugas melainkan keadaan memerlukan bantuan tambahan.) 
  2. Repossessors should only gain entry into premises with the knowledge and consent of the occupant.
    (Ejen penarik kenderaan hanya boleh memasuki kawasan tempat tinggal (premis) dengan pengetahuan dan kebenaran penghuni).
  3. Repossessors should be well mannered and dress decently. They should ensure the practice of professionalism and dignity in carrying out their work.
    (Ejen penarik kenderaan hendaklah sentiasa berlaku sopan dan berpakaian kemas. Mereka harus mengekalkan tahap professionalisma dan berhemah dalam menjalankan tugas mereka).
  4. The use of "strong arm tactics" of any kind is strictly prohibited in the performance of their work.
    (Penggunaan sebarang taktik kekerasan dalam apa jua bentuk adalah dilarang sama sekali semasa menjalankan tugas mereka).
  5. At the time of repossession, the repossessors should give a standard notice to the hirer informing him/her of the following :
    (Semasa pengambilan semula milik kenderaan, ejen penarik kenderaan harus mengemukakan notis kepada penyewa dan memaklumkan perkara-perkara berikut :)
  • The address and telephone number of the bank and the authorised officers he can contact immediately to resolve any problems.
    (Alamat dan nombor telefon bank dan pegawai yang diberi kuasa untuk dihubungi bagi menyelesaikan apa-apa masalah).
  • The repossessors must give a reasonable time to the hirers to inspect the vehicle and remove his personal items and belongings.
    (Ejen penarik kenderaan perlu memberi masa yang berpatutan kepada penyewa untuk memeriksa kenderaan dan mengeluarkan barang-barang kepunyaannya).

  1. As far as possible, repossession should be undertaken in the presence of the hirer or any person authorised to use that car.
    (Bahawa pengambilan semula milik kenderaan hendaklah dijalankan di hadapan penyewa atau sesiapa yang telah dibenarkan membawa kenderaan tersebut).
  2. A police report on the repossession should be lodged as soon as practicable and preferably within 24 hours but in exceptional circumstances, not later than 48 hours from the time of repossession.
    (Laporan polis berkenaan pengambilan semula milik kenderaan hendaklah dibuat secepat mungkin dalam tempoh 24 jam tetapi dalam keadaan tertentu, tidak melebihi 48 jam dari masa pengambilan semula milik kenderaan).
  3. Repossessors should at all times act in accordance with the laws and regulations in the performance of their work.
    (Ejen penarik kenderaan hendaklah sentiasa mematuhi undang-undang dan peraturan yang sedia ada pada bila-bila masa sewaktu menjalankan tugas.)
  4. All repossessors should also observe any other Code of Ethics introduced by the Association of Hire Purchase Companies Malaysia, Association of Finance Companies of Malaysia and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs from time to time.
    (Ejen penarik kenderaan harus mematuhi sebarang Kod Etika yang diperkenalkan dari masa ke semasa oleh Persatuan Syarikat-Syarikat Sewa Beli Malaysia, Syarikat-Syarikat Kewangan Malaysia dan Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna).
