FAQ - Visa Debit Picture Card - Temporarily unavailable.

  1. Why is the application of Maybank Visa Debit Picture Card disabled?
We are disabling the Maybank Visa Debit Picture Card application for the preparation of Maybank Chip Card Specification, a move to replace signature-based cards with PIN-based cards. The new card will be ready by May 2016.

  2. I already own the Maybank Visa Debit Picture Card. Do I need to get mine replaced?
Yes. This is the new Bank Negara's Compliance project, whereby all Debit Cards nationwide will need to be replaced with the new Maybank Chip Card Specification.

  3. Can I still use my existing Maybank Visa Debit Picture Card?
Yes, you may use your existing card until 31 December 2016. However, you will need to replace your card with the choice of the MyDebit Maybank Debit Card (starting 1 March 2016) or the new Maybank Visa Debit Picture Card (starting May 2016).

  4. Do I need to pay RM26.50 again for the Maybank Visa Debit Picture Card fee if I apply for the new card? Can I still use my old photo?
Yes, you will need to pay for RM26.50 when you reapply for the new card. However, if you choose to replace it with the MyDebit Maybank Debit Card, it will be FREE and you can re-card at any branch nationwide. Your old photo on the card will no longer available and you will need to submit a fresh picture for the new application on Maybank2u.
