1. What does Maybank Islamic Ikhwan CardCare Takaful Plan cover?
It provides coverage for death and total permanent disability due to sickness or accidental causes.

2. How does the Takaful Plan protect you?
The Plan ensures that the outstanding card balance of up to RM100,000 per life, is settled in the event of premature death or total permanent disability under this certificate.

3. How are the benefits paid?
All benefits are paid in one lump sum for all Maybank Islamic Ikhwan Card outstanding balance that are covered under this Takaful Plan.

4. What are the contribution based on, and how do I pay?
It will cost you RM0.28 for every RM100 of your outstanding balance and the contributions are charged monthly into your Maybank Ikhwan Card billing statement.

5. Who is the owner and beneficiary of this Plan?
Maybankard is the certificate owner and beneficiary of the Plan. A Takaful Certificate shall be issued to the cardmember who participates in this Takaful Plan, upon request from the Participant.

6. Who is eligible to apply for protection?
Acceptance is guaranteed for all Principle Maybank Islamic Ikhwan cardmembers aged 21 to 60 years old.

7. What is the expiry age limit for the Plan?
The expiry age limit is 65 years old.

8. Are there exclusions to this certificate?

Yes, exclusions on death or total permanent disability are:

  • Death by suicide within twelve (12) months from the cover start date.
  • Pre-existing conditions - illnesses or ailments which existed during the twelve (12) months prior to the cover start date.

9. Other standard exclusions for total permanent disability includes:

  • War, whether declared or not, and riots.
  • Aviation except as a pilot, crew member or fare paying passenger on a scheduled air route or licensed chartered service.
  • Self-inflicted injury or suicide attempt (whether sane or insane).
  • Drug and/or alcohol abuse.
  • Dangerous avocations, pastimes and hobbies.

10. How can the Takaful Plan be terminated?

The Takaful Plan coverage can be terminated in the following manner:

  • Notification by Maybankard Centre that the Participant's insured Maybank Islamic Ikhwan Card is cancelled.
  • The Participant insured has attained the age of 65.
  • The Participant's death or total permanent disability.
  • Non-payment of contribution in respect of the Participant for a period of 30 days after they have become due.
  • Written notice from Maybankard Centre or the Participant directing that the Takaful Plan be cancelled.
