Residents or non-residents can now open and maintain Foreign Currency Account (FCA) with any of our branches. The FCA is available in more than 10 major currencies.

It provides you an additional option to save consistently in the currency of your choice for whatever purposes - your child's education overseas, travel, investment etc. It also benefits Malaysian residents employed abroad and earning regular income from overseas or non-residents who are employed in Malaysia.

FCA lets you purchase or retain receivables in major currencies to protect against currency fluctuations.

Foreign Currency Account
You will require a minimum of USD1,000 or the equivalent to open an account.

Individuals and Non-Individuals (Company) of Foreign Currency Account customers are entitled to enjoy interest* on Foreign Currency Deposits under US Dollar (USD), Australian Dollar (AUD), Euro (EUR) and Pound Sterling (GBP) currencies subject to a minimum balance outstanding as follows :

* Subject to 5% withholding tax

Placement
A minimum deposit of USD5,000 or the equivalent is required to earn interest. The placement period can be for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 or 12 months.
