“M2U Mobile” Goes Live to Maybank2u & Celcom Customers

M2U Mobile, the country’s first comprehensive mobile financial services offered by Maybank is now available to any Maybank customer who subscribe to Celcom’s GPRS/3G services.

Maybank and Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad held a joint launch of M2U Mobile at 1 Utama in Petaling Jaya today.

M2U Mobile offers the three most popular services available on the internet banking portal Maybank2u.com, which are balance enquiry, fund transfers and bill payments, in a secured environment.

“When we launched M2U Mobile’s pilot test 2 weeks ago, we received positive feedback from the test group who liked the security, flexibility as well as versatility of M2U Mobile services. They share our conviction of the immense benefit and potential of such a delivery channel to meet their needs. Now, Celcom mobile subscribers with GPRS/3G services can have immediate access to this innovative mobile financial service,” said Datuk Johar Che Mat, Chief Operating Officer of Maybank.

The registration process is simple and require Celcom’s GPRS/3G services and only two simple steps, that is, to register and to activate M2U Mobile services at any Maybank ATM or via Maybank2u.com.

“M2U Mobile’s flexibility is its unsurpassed mobility compared to computer-linked online banking. The power of M2U Mobile is convenient connectivity to financial services, anywhere, anytime at the palm of your hands,” added Datuk Johar.

“M2U Mobile departs radically from the SMS method of mobile financial services. M2U Mobile leverages on technology and advanced applications to provide secure, quick and convenient access to a range of financial services via smart mobile phones. The enhanced functionality and high quality visual display of mobile phones today has enabled us to provide a ‘mini Maybank2u’ on these phones,” said Datuk Johar.

The use of password access and registered services enhance security for M2U Mobile users. Any changes to the registered list can only be done via Maybank2u.com.

Datuk Johar also said that M2U Mobile extends Maybank’s range of delivery channels. “As a bank committed to consistently delivering value to customers, Maybank will continue to enhance M2U Mobile to meet customers’ needs and reflect their lifestyle,” he added.

In conjunction with the launch of M2U Mobile, a special contest for M2U Mobile is held from 5 July until 3 October 2006 offering prizes of 2 Motorola RAZR V3x mobile phones each week.
