MAYBANK SHANGHAI
Maybank Shanghai Branch is a full branch of MAYBANK.
It commenced its business operation on 28 December 2000.
It is the first and only Malaysian bank which has been
granted a banking licence by the People's Bank of China.
The current principal business activity of the branch
is primarily wholesale banking denominated in both Renminbi
and foreign currency (mainly in US Dollars).
The focus of Maybank Shanghai is to serve Malaysian/Singaporean/ASEAN
customers with investments in China and involvement
in international trade with China. Additionally, the
branch also participates in the promotion of trade and
investments between Malaysia/Singaporean/ASEAN and China.
The branch is also keen to explore financing for foreign-invested
ventures from other countries.
Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOE), which are operating
profitably and have the approval from the State Administration
for Foreign Exchange (syndicated facilities) to borrow
in foreign currency and expatriates working with MNCs
in China who wish to take the opportunity to secure
retail loans for the purchase of residential properties
will also be considered.
